Who Are Apeace?
Apeace (Korean: 에이피스; Japanese: エーピース) is a South Korean boy band under Golden Goose Entertainment. They are currently active in Japan. In 2010, a year before debuting under the name of Apeace, they released a digital single titled “One” under the name of Double 21 in Korea. They debuted on Mnet’s M Rookies on August 25th, 2010. Double 21 contained four subunits, such as Sky, Earth, River, and Burning. The number 21 in the name stood for the total number of members of Apeace on debut. The members were chosen by Kim Kyungwook, former SM president who raised BoA, TVXQ, Shinhwa, H.O.T., etc. On October 24th, 2010, all the members appeared for the first time together at Lotte World and then released their digital single “S.O.S” on October 27th, 2010. Afterward, the group was renamed into Apeace. Apeace debuted in Japan with the release of their first full-length album titled 1st ALBUM Apeace on September 29th, 2012. Months before the release of their first album, they released a mini-album titled We Are the One and held their first fan tour in Seoul in April 2012. After officially debuting in Japan, Apeace is used more often than A-PEACE. Seems like Apeace continued to do their activities in Japan because there are no further updates of their activities in Korea. The band currently consists of Ji Hyun-Sung, Ha Geon-Hee, Song Seung-Hyuk, Hong Sung-Ho, Kim Wan-Chul, Kim Jin-Woo, Yun Jun-Sik, Jeong Young-Uk, Choi Si-Hyuk, Kim Won-Sik, Choi Young-Won, and J.D. Members Song Seung-Hyuk, and Hong Sung-Ho are currently on hiatus because they are attending military services.
