Unfortunately, in the midst of their bright start, Daesung and BIG BANG’s career was hit by trials. In 2011, Daesung got into a controversy as he was reported to have hit a motorcyclist and resulted in the motorcyclist’s death. Although he was eventually found not guilty, Daesung chose to take a year-long break from entertainment for self-reflection. With the absence of Daesung, BIG BANG automatically did not have full-team activities during that period. Daesung’s controversy, as well as a series of scandals in 2011, caused a halt in BIG BANG activities, as well as losing fans.
